I have a feeling that the Amiga versions of doom are only
compatible with ports based on the Linux version. There may be one
for PC that is compatible, or the amiga version may be compatible
with the dos version.
Anyway, only one way to find out eh?
As for starting a game, it definatly says somewhere in the docs
