duh. of course, its GNOME. however, its packaged in a proper way...and its
not just the installer that makes the difference. Helix-code have introduced
an 'update tool' which works in a perfect manner (making the M$ update look
old and shabby) whats more, after updating your GNOME, you dont even need
the 'please reboot' methodology ;-)

and yes, it looks better...much much better. so its in the #1 slot for
'best eye-candy' Linux GUI....which, it seems to me, is what everyone is
going for these days :-|
(enlightenment, which went for powerful functions, seems to be
dying...what'd'ya expect for a window manager that takes over 16Mb of RAM!)
