Which reminds me of the classic joke that would be funny if not too
believable.
Because a normal ballpoint would not work too well in zero-G, NASA spent
millions in developing one that would work. They did it and of course it
worked and was a triumph in modern technology.
The Russians had the same problem, but they solved that by taking a pencil
instead.
Very much like computing today, you have to get the latest gee-whizz stuff
but I rmemeber when you switched on a computer and it was ready instantly
and did not take ages to boot up :-(
