My apologies :-) I thought you meant turntables in general.

I know. I've learned to mix on "dodgy" turntables which were actually quite
expensive, but not really suited to DJ'ing.

Not for us DJs, no. I only own Technics now.

Well if you have the cash...........
my girlfriends old-man spends serious cash on his hi-fi set up.
You *can* tell that it's top quality, just by listening to it.
I, on the other hand, am quite happy with my set-up. (tho' my amp is getting
a bit long in the tooth.)
You may as well ask, why buy a decent system at-all, when your cheapo
midi-system does the lot for £50.
