Hee, hee, I was a big name dropper and mentioned it on the list, a
couple of months ago :) Cause I'd been in contact with him, asking if
he's be interested in doing a port to QNX RTP (Neutrino- now officially
known as QNX Real Time Platform).
I'll have to get back to him on that one- I'm working with a guy from
UK called Bernard Giltrap http://www.ideas2reality.co.uk/ . We're
looking at asking Mark, if he would want to license the PC version of
Blitz to us, so we could make a version on QNX. We'd need to do the
libs, and the GUI for the compiler, not sure on what would be needed
for the debugger- anyone interested in helping? We're looking at
getting Venture Capital, but if we don't, we would pay by % of the
profits.
Also, QSSL (the company's not called QNX as some tend to think :)
will pay a substantial Bounty for completed projects, so you could get
money from that too. So if anyone's interested in porting apps
(including games) over to QNX, give us a yell, and I'll give you the
contact address to see how much of a Bounty they'll pay for your
project. Note: at this time it may be a bit hard getting a reply at
this time, as they're all working their butts off getting the QNX CD
out! At the moment only C, C++,Java, etc are supported, but if we get a
Basic going, then we could use the Blitz Basic 2 proggies.
The QNX RTP CD will be out in about a months time- it will be free to
use for non-commercial purposes. If you want to have a look at it now-
you can join Phoenix and download it- the base archive is 26 Megs,and
apps can be added by FTP as you like (using a system like a
sophisticated version of ADT on Aminet), or you can download the whole
640Meg CD-image if you have a major connection :) If you want to join
