Subject: | AMIOPEN: Vector graphcs for Amiverse gadgets/classes |
Hi,
I have been playing with a MacOS X beta today and i noticed a very
cool feature that i hope you have in the amiverse design, but if not
i think an analysis would be a good idea.
The feature i refer to is of course Aqua`s use of vector graphics for
scaleable graphic items on the desktop, no longer do icons and gadgets
become so small that they are barely visible, for example in 1600x1200
the standard up/down scroll buttons under KDE and Windows are about 2mm
across (i.e very small).
Having bitmaps for all resolutions and colour depths is slightly
inelegant, having scaleable images would be better in almost all states
because the gui engine could render an appropreate set of gadgets either
to bitmaps (for slow systems) upon a resolution change or upon refresh
for faster (i.e pc based) systems.
regards,
