Thanks for the correction... slot // socket // whatever; it's
just commodity crap and next week I'm sure they will have changed
over to the suxPlug-4 CPU "standard".
I do think the adapter I *meant* to describe is readily available,
though. The Dual Proc MB I chose (for some non-sdk related
compatibility issues) has Slot-1 CPU connectors. Apparently this is a
CPU form factor that is being phased out of the commodity zone (intel
has to keep the sheep moving, don't ya know :). This complicated my
decision and options on a CPU a bit, but 2 local PC parts shops
offered the solution of using a Socket-7 CPU package via a $15 Slot-1
adapter.
