No. rm -r is the same as rmdir.

I can do it from Linux (while intent runs). I just cannot
do it inside of intent until I restart it.

No change there.

You probably have to run intent for a while, make some changes
on the Linux side (while intent is running). Right now, I'm
looking for a way to reproduce the error so I can file a proper
bug report or add an FAQ.
