Well, how about this:
- For this time only, you put an installer EXE with a patch on your
FTP server. The patch fixes all bugs in the Linux version plus it
contains the necessary interfaces for Windows. The idea is to allow
the owners of the Linux version to install it on Windows, too.
- In the future, you sell a CD which contains Ami for all available
systems for, say, $50. There is no upgrade, side-grade or whatever.
On the web-site, people can find patches to fix the bugs in the old
and the current versions (no upgrades).
IMHO, everyone should be able to spend $50 if he wants Ami for another
system. If he just needs bugfixes, he can download them or he can
pay $50 for a shiney new CD rom with all the bugfixes, too.
What I would not like to see is that you put out several CDs with
different versions of Ami. What's the point in filling my cupboards
with lots of almost-empty CDs ??
