What obsolete version of the Linux kernel and X server are you using?
Install the latest kernel (2.4.0-something) and XFree86 4.0. It supports
many of the things you are currently missing.
Some notes:
- writing to NTFS partitions is still considered a dangerous operation.
I had a positive experience writing to NTFS partitions, but some weeks
ago I heard of problems with partitions created by NT 5.0 (AKA W2k).
- USB based ADSL modems are (probably) not yet supported. However
can use ethernet modems with the synchronous PPP daemon
- XFree86 4 has an extension called XINERAMA which supports multiple
graphics cards on the same X11 display. I'm not sure if this includes
the secondary output of the G400 Max...
- USB and Firewire are there. I successfully used a USB camera, for the
Firewire I don't know.
- What is VTNT??? :-)
