That means another PII, which is neatly modularized in the
Elate architecture. A x86 CII should be readily available. As
long as I understood the SDK manual correctly.
Well...
A Windows PII will be needed for the final product anyways.
If I buy the final OE package, I want a package I can install
on any machine regardless of the host OS. The same should
be possible for the SDK. Perhaps not tomorrow, but some day
(soon).
Read, it would be really nice to be able to install the very same
SDK on either (any) platform.
If I have to pay an upgrade price (as in SDK 1.0 -> SDK 2.0),
thats fine with me if other parts of the SDK are also upated (like,
the bugfixed compiler, BOOPS, SHEEP etc.).
But I think paying an extra only to make the same (v1.0) SDK
run on Windows is a bad idea indeed.
It looks like much work is done at Amiga Inc. (hopefully). Id
suggest adding new platforms to the "host compatibility list"
only when a new SDK version is released (version, not
revision), and make the upgrade fee cover the costs for the
platform added.
This way, people would be happy about the improvements
in the SDK instead of complaining about the fee they have
to pay for the PII added.
But then again, marketing is not exactly my field of knowledge...
