Subject:AMIOPEN: Competition and appreciation

I have been asked this question in email and on the telephone what seems
like 100 times now so I will answer here for all to see.

"We do not have any competition!"

Java's desire to be write once, run many just doesn't work as successfully
as originally hoped due to forking and other issues. It does ok, but not
what it was supposed to be.

As far as others with similar "properties", what we are building currently
runs on top of most of what "could have been" our competition.

Thus, Linux, Windows, QNX, etc are NOT our competition any more than x86,
PPC, Arm, etc are our competition. Our hosted model will run quite well in
many different environments.

No one else has or is building a Digital Operating Environment targeted at
the casual home user, the gamer and the audio and video professional that
has "write once, run many" capabilities.

No one else has or is building an Digital Operating Environment that runs
on so many hosts and so many chip set and is "write once, run many" across
them all.

That said, Bill asked me to tell all of you here how much he appreciates
your participation and support. We view each and every one of you, whether
commercial or open source, as partners helping us bring computing to the
level it should have been at for a long time now.

Look for some more press releases soon from Bill and also we should have an
update coming once the dev site is up to snuff and properly tested.

Many thanks to all of you from all of us!
