Nothing wrong with another option. It helps Amiga. It will also help
Linux when Windows games developers start targeting their games for
Ami -- because then previously "Windows-only" games will run under
Windows and Linux too -- same binary. I think you're missing the "big
picture" here. Windows and Linux support means that games developers
can target Windows, Linux and Ami all at once. Developers expand
their market and only develop for one platform. If there were no
Amiga/Windows support, then Ami would be considered a "fringe"
platform by a good number of developers and not worth considering, for
the most part -- at least at the beginning. Amiga/Windows will provide
the necessary momentum for Ami to quickly gain popularity.
As someone heavily involved in the Linux community, I really don't
understand your desire to "protect" Linux. Linux doesn't need you to
defend it -- it's doing quite well all by itself. Linux development
and innovations will continue regardless of what Microsoft or Amiga
does. Linux is protected by the GPL, and is enjoying massive
popularity right now, as it will continue to in the future. Linux
can't be destroyed so you don't need to worry about that possibility.

Which is fine, since AI isn't in the business of just selling Linux
SDK's or devboxes. They created the SDK so that people will
write apps for the new Amiga; the new Amiga is their business and the
SDK is just there to get the apps written.
