Hi, (all),

It's usually good if Ami gets more publicity, but, if it gets related to some
at least 'questionable' or even disturbing notions, or person, so, it's maybe
brings negative results. Maybe I'm wrong, and 'negative' advertisement is also
advertisement, (as pop-stars know it well). Anyway, if you curious, what are
Kevin Warwick's views, just read on. (I posted it here for this reason.)

Hi, Matthew,

I've seen him first in a saturday night show. I can't really decide whether he
is just a scoop-hunting crowd-shocking showman, or sciencist, but a really
crazy one. He claims the near(!) future is of the cyborgs, with half body
artifical, and with (lots of) electronics implanted in their brains, controlling
thinking/emotions/etc. (in place of our own subconscious brain/mind, which
is almost unknown yet, rather for people like him). And that this is human-
evolution's next necessary step, already 10-20 years after.

He 'demonstrated' it(?) with a simple radio-identifying chip implanted in his arm,
(similar which usually implanted into cats, dogs), which were sensed by his
office-door, saying "hello" to him. He then told to the reporters: "Can you see?
My office knows(!) me." It's maybe impressive to the uninformed, but really a
cheap spectacle, nothing world-sensation.

But, they're now planning much deeper interventions. Like recording one's
trans-nerve impulses (thoughts and emotions, as he claims, I think wrongly),
and playing it back in others' brains. (One problem is that they don't really know
the system, just playing around.)

Though, I have *no* problems with 'wearable' computers, or even the mind-machines
(which are just hot enough, and, if anything, then maybe this is the way forwards,
or f.ex. 'meditation', as these *teaches* to use abilities/reserves better, etc.).

If you want to disscuss it further, then let's go private: victor@pannonline.hu

Victor I. Haaz
