The problem is that there is no way to see if the AVE is open and the
program bails. I've experienced this many times with different
applications and someone (Vesa I think? Or ewinease author..) did the
system("sleep 1"); trick and viola, things started working. I have had
UAE running here with no trouble (though I have not tried the p96
stuff).
