The Latest News
Now that the game engine is 90% complete, I've started to turn my attention to designing the levels, which means I haven't got as many new features to report as usual. Anyway, here's what's been added to the game this month:
- Vehicles now leave behind skidmarks when you slide them - check out the latest screenshots to see what I mean.
- A system has been implemented which allows certain events to trigger others. For example, it's now possible for the game to impose a time limit on how long a certain mission should take.
- The textures used before were really just placeholders - I've started to introduce more professional versions, as can be seen in the new screenshots.
- If you start to kill people then the police will respond by shooting you on sight. They'll also put up roadblocks and try to run you over.
- Lots of new sound effects have been added to the game - buses beep as they reverse, people scream when you run them over, crowds cheer when you complete a mission and grenades make a 'clink' noise when they bounce - which can be very helpful if you're not the one who threw the grenade!
Well, that's it for this update - look forward to seeing you next time!
