6.1 The AmIRC Plugin

Contact Manager comes with a plugin for AmIRC which adds a couple of commands to it. Here they are:

• /STARTCM - starts Contact Manager
• /CMADDUSER - adds an user to your CM database. The arguments of this command are:
  • USER/A - user's nick
  • NAME - user's first name
  • SURNAME - user's surname
  • EMAIL - user's email
  • START/S - if specified, CM will be started after adding the user, so you can edit the newly created record.

  Example: /cmadduser Wiz Simone Tellini wiz@pragmanet.it

  You can also add a button to AmIRC with "/CMADDUSER %u" for a quick way to add users.

• /CMADDCHANNEL - adds a channel entry to your CM database. The arguments of this command are:
  • CHANNEL/A - name of the channel, eg. #amiga
  • SERVER/K - server where the channel is
  • START/S - see /CMADDUSER
• /CMURL - searches for an URL among the WWW/FTP entries of your database. The arguments of this command are:
  • URL/A - pattern to search for. You can enter any valid DOS pattern here (eg, "aminet#?", "(amiga|amy)"...). The pattern will be compared against the name, url and comment fields.
  • CHAN/S - if specified the result of the search will be sent to the current channel.
  • MSG/K - you can use this argument to send the result of the search as a private message to another user: eg. /cmurl aminet#? msg FooBar

The plugin also adds a "Start CManger..." menu to the Plugins menu of AmIRC.
