It should make us all happy, because if it can be done on QNX it can be
done (sooner or later) on Tao too.
That gives a programming language for multimedia which is free of the
crash-inducing pointer and other RAM problems of C. The problem with
Java has always been that it was too slow for multimedia, now that has
been fixed, at least in principle.
The main reason why computers crash so much is that everything is
written in C, a language that requires the programmer to do his own
memory management. Programs like ARexx that do it for you never crash
the computer, but so far have always been too slow.
