Hello All,

After weeks of struggling and one hard drive catching fire (yes, Linux
really can be that tricky to install), I've finally managed to install
RedHat 6.2 and the SDK (with the ncurses fix).

However I just have one question, how do I change the default Screen mode of
X-Windows?

The SDK says it has been optimised for 16bit and currently the screen is
1600x1200x8 (although I did have it running in 32 at one point).

I've edited XF86Config and put all the 1600x1200 modes first in the list.
I've tried rearranging the entries so that the 16bit ones are first (that
didn't work) and I've even tried deleting the 8bit ones, then X-Windows
wouldn't start.

I'm sure this is really simple (or maybe not) but as a newcomer to Linux,
I'm struggling a bit.

Thanks for any help you can give.

BTW, LILO works great for dual booting Linux/Win ME.
