hi,

a normal G4 would be good for an A1200 accelerator card. firstly though, the
problem of having no 68k co-cpu would have to be overcome. I guess that
hurdle is almost gone....almost. we have yet to see the first ppc-only cards
(after 2 years of hype)
last night the lack of no L2 cache on the PPC cards really hit home as I
ported another maths program...an AMD K6-2 was over twice as fast (normally
the two chips are on a pretty level basis)
..also looking forward to being able to use a PC-133 SDRAM - that'll just be
able to fit on an A1200 card - or go the route Phase5 planned and use the
standard laptop memory modules (their prices are coming down through
competition)
