On 29-Sep-00, you gnashed on about [amigactive] Re: To sum it up:

>AC Hi Everybody,

>AC>> AC Although, there is one way to fix it, BCD :) (Binary Coded
>AC>> Decimal AC 'case you didn't know). Bit wastedful on memory, but
>AC>> fine if you AC /need/ the accuracy :)

>AC> Oh looks like I'll have to look up the 68k op-codes then, last time
>AC> I looked I did not see any for handling BCD, maybe you could refresh
>AC> my memory. Draylan tru

>AC Tell me one CPU that /does/ have BCD opcodes. (ok ok, there's probably
>AC one isn't there? :)
Zilog Z80 as found the the ole Spectrum ,Yeah I know it only an 8bit Cpu but
for it's time it was IMHO quite an advaced design Built in FPU,Blitter. By
comparison the 68k chips look like RISC chips.
>AC Prehaps you have to write your /own/ maths routines to handle BCD? ;)

>AC Just 'cos it isn't supported directly by the CPU's instruction doesn't
>AC mean it can't be used (otherwise it probably wouldn't exist? :)

>AC See ya :)
