Think about it. People leaving the Amiga have spent the better part of a
decade (in fact, in the US, an entire decade) with an under-supported
platform. After all that suffering, it's really really tempting to join a
world where by comparison your every needs are waited on hand and foot.

Right, but the Mac is limping along as an also-ran with no real potential
to break through as a legitimate equal player. Let's not forget that Apple
had to essentially mortgage themselves to Microsoft a few years ago just
to keep Office updates coming.

Linux is considerably more difficult to learn than the Mac.
