Subject:AA12 - EZLink

Hi all,

Just got AA12 and haven't had much chance to read it yet but saw the
review of the EZLink. I bought one of these way back when Amiga
Format reviewed it. I didn't get it working for ages though cos I
didn't have much time to play with it, and I had trouble getting it
to learn the codesets for my Aiwa hifi. I did eventually get it
working though in the following way:

I didn't know the modulation or speed, so I loaded the examples in
order and tried learning a button of my remote on each codeset. I
got to the Canon codeset, taught it a button, sent it and it worked.
I saved out the codeset as a new name, and went about learning my
other buttons. Unfortunately though, I could not get it to learn any
other buttons. At this point, I copied the codeset for my working
button and pasted it in a shell window. I copied and pasted a
codeset that wasn't working into a shell window, and noticed that the
codeset that wasn't working was shorter by about 9 or 10 bits. The
codeset that was working, had about 9 or 10 '1's prefixing the code.
I added 9 or 10 '1's on to the codeset that didn't work and then
pasted it back into infrarexx. I tried sending it and it worked. I
then learned the rest of my remote control in the same way.

I hope this is useful to some people.
