okay, 5 questions and answers for the first AA Linux section then :-)

http://linux-apus.sourceforge.net
we are a project using the sourceforge OpenSource development system
> How do I install it?
The Docs and FAQs need some updating, but, basically, you get LinuxPPC 1999 CD
(the 2000 installer is being worked on), which is equivalent to RedHat 6.1
either from http://www.linuxppc.org or from me for 5 quid
then you run the bootstrap with the test kernel...to make sure it works on
your machine, then if it does, you run the bootstrap with the installer
ramdisk
..once again, its the Documents that have to be overhealed...noones
volunteered any time to do this :-(
> Where can I get info/support/help for it?
join the APUS mailing list, once again, links are on the sourceforge site
> Where can I download software from?
You should be able to use any software downloaded from linuxppc.org and any
LinuxPPC precompiled packages/code...you should also be able to compile,
without problems, most of the Linux stuff out there. There ARE issues with
bigendian/little-endian software, those things you cant use yet... eg Pingus
:-(
> Is it for me?
depends what you want to do. If you want to learn Java, then its the only
way to do it on Amiga hardware right now. if you want to use widespread
tools to do jobs, then yes (eg Gimp), if you want to play games that havent
made it to the Amiga, then yes.... eg MythII, Railroad TycoonII,
Civilisation: Call To Power etc http://www.lokigames.com
...and Hyperion are also porting their stuff....eg Sin, HereticII etc to Linux
