I have a new Amiga on order with a 17GB drive. I will be having OS3.5 on
it and I hoped to have a PPC Linux on it too. How would you recommend
doing this?

So if I wanted a folder for example called documents which stored my docs
(obviously) would I create it under / or under /home
If I wanted to install KNapster for example would it give itself a home?
Or would I have to choose /Programs/Music/KNapster ?

We keep saying things in print are easier, but there seems to be no way of
making this file less daunting.

I had a brand new 10GB drive. I used fdisk (the MSDOS one) to create a 3GB
and 4GB partition, and then installed Winblows 98. Then I used the
Mandrake installer, and pointed it to the unused space on the drive, click
auto, and it automatically divides it up into the necessary partitions.

Ok. I get the feeling you are a Gnome fan. Is it better the K? I quite
like K and the button bar along the bottom is quite good.

Thanks Alan, that's really useful. :-)

I'm very interested in Linux (I think there are a lot of other people on
this list who are too), and I want to be able to use it on my Amiga as
well as my PC. Will gnome or KDE run on Amiga Linux?
Hey Alan, why don't you write a Linux tutorial/article for AmigaActive.
It's obvious you know what your talking about.
Cheers,
Ad.
