Sounds somewhat like the old "how to recode your car stereo" fix
and TBH I've never heard of it working on a hard disk but WTF - if all else
fails I'll give it a go ;)
Alternatively I could take it to work and see if a SCSI equipped PC
can format it - maybe I'll do that after this week off :)
I do have a suitable PC @ home but it's running so sweetly now I'm
reluctant to disturb it :)
