Hi there Richard
On 02-Sep-00, you wrote:

Does this "continuous booting loop" occur with the grinding sound of the
drive sounding like it is being permanently accessed? I've had this a
couple of times when I've messed around with PFS and the 4g barrier. But
L:pfs3ds was not the problem, I'm sure of that for me, I use it fine for my
Browser cache partition. I have a 4.3g Seagate.
It's quite a nasty problem to try and access the Amiga again if that drive
is the only one you have (as is the case with me, but I'm getting a backup
drive), but it is possible. I have no idea what actually causes it (apart
from me being a berk and fixing what 'aint broke), but reinstalling the RDB
got my partitions back. The worse part was that I had to hotplug the drive
back into the chain after booting from a zip and THEN mount it, which is
supposed to be A Bad Thing, but the drive works fine now, getting a lot of
use.
I have always like to install harddrives with Laire's SCSIConfig- someone
else mentioned to stick to one program, which sounds like good advice.
I do not recommend you do what I did, as I may have been incredible lucky
(?).
I'm sorry but my answer is a pretty abstract reply to your call for help :)
