hi,

give me $50,000 and I'll work on a Quicktime 4/5 player. sorry, but its what
Apple charges for access to their proprietary compression systems.
most AVI's can be played by the Amiga movieplayer SoftCinema, this can play
Indeo and Microsoft RLE and Cinepak Codec movies....thanks to being able to
use PPC compiled linux xanim modules (who says Amiga and Linux dont go
together!? ;-) ) but xanim technique isnt the fastest. perhaps a port of
XMovie wouldnt go amiss either...thats quite a nifty program! :-)
once again, though, the Codecs arent open....xanim were given precompiles
for their effort, (they designed a good API that MS et al could use as a
base) the Amiga players hijack those modules.
