Subject: | SCSI, Zip, A3000 :) |
Hello
Ok, aside from that what appears to be a dead IDE Zip drive with the
infamous click of death, I need some advice. Again.
I'm considering trying to get a second hand Zip 100 external SCSI drive for
the Amiga 3000. Currently the A3000 has a dead Buster, but otherwise a PIV,
GGate 386SX, and two SCSI drives. The buster will soon be replaced!
The two SCSI drives are two internal SCSI hard disks - the only way i could
get the two to work was to keep the original 40MB Quantum drive, agreed -
it's a rather big way to terminate the SCSI Chain..... ;-) The other drive
is a 540MB SCSI IBM (OEM) drive which both seem to work great on the A3000's
04 WD SCSI chip.
I need to know if the A3000's WD 04 SCSI chip would be okay with the SCSI
Zip drive and soon an external SCSI CD-ROM drive? I'm inclined to say, no.
:( However I have purchased a 25pin SCSI terminator so it will be
terminated correctly.
Any help would be appreciated as ever. (It may seem i'm spending a fortune
on this A3000, and Amigas - but thus far have only spent £30 since the start
of the problems!)
All the best,
