Those special loading routines were evil, definitely. I once met the guy
that wrote one of the more popular ones. Regretted not shouting at him and
asking how he dared waste hours of my life trying repeatedly to load a
game only to find it fails because the volume knob on my cheap little tape
recorder had moved 0.01mm to the left.

And if the games didn't crash, they'd have something like the famous attic
bug which made them impossible to finish. Bring back the 80s, they were,
erm, about the same as things are now probably ;)

PS No prize is on offer to anyone who knows what an "attic bug" is. I'll
thank you lots if you can tell me what was down the hole in the chappel
though. The name of the room? Settle an argument for me, please :)
