You can read them with AmigaWriter 2, but not write them AFAIK.

Ask them how exactly plain ASCII can carry a virus [1] and how Word [2] is
safer.

[1] excluding UUEncoding it and decoding it manually somehow, dispite
lacking the tools, then running the result.
[2] which includes a built in scripting language which is often a target of
virus writers.
