The "attic bug" was a remarkable feature of the classic Spectrum game Jet
Set Willy which prolonged the life-span of the game indefinitely by making
it impossible to complete. Upon venturing into a room called "The Attic"
(Hence the "attic bug"), various other rooms would become instantly fatal,
losing all your lives straight away.
There was a way to fix it too, I seem to remember.
