Anyway, going through the obvious choices, can you clean Gayle with
some isopropanol and an old (SOFT) toothbrush? Make sure you ARE
pushing down on the thing as HARD as you dare, and check that the
adapter is no more than 1/2 mm away from the board.
Also, try taking both jumpers off the board, see if it detects then..
Can I ask you to mail Jens Schoenfeld about this (jens@siliconsonic.de)
and tell him you're having the same problems as Matt Sealey was? He's
just had my adapter back for testing to see if it's a real problem with
the board or me, or a manufacturing fault, or whatever. Knowing that
there's a second adapter displaying the same symptoms might kickstart
him a bit.
