Subject: | hard drive keeps resetting Amiga at startup!??!?! |
Hello everyone,
Now I *know* I've done something wrong....
I have installed a Seagate Barracuda (with a UltraWIDE SCSI down to SCSI-II
converter) 18.2GB and had it working OK for the day thata I partitioned it
but found it was only 4GB when formatted (4 partitions around 1GB each) even
though I had set it up to be three 5GB partitions and the remainder for the
4th partition. I was formatting one of the partitions and got a guru and
thus a reset and then had checksum errors on that partition after the
reboot. Seeing as I was still missing about 14GB I decided to repartition
it properly but when I saved the changes to the drive, and reset, it just
went in to a continuous rebooting loop. The only way I can now use the
Amiga is to remove the power from the Barracuda. I still have the 1GB IDE
drive so that's ok - I can still use the Amiga, but now I can't do anything
to the Barracuda - I even tried plugging in the power to it after the Amiga
had booted but it would not recognise it. I can't even get to the early
boot up screen. I am using PFS2 on the Barracuda (or I *was*) - the normal
version. It only got into the continuous loop when I tried to put on the
"proper" >4GB version (l:pfs2ds)....
Any ideas on how to get the barracua to work again!?!?! I'm really
!#@#$#%@#% that I had it working and now it's not.
Regards,
Richard.
