Subject: | Re: (more) hard drive keeps resetting Amiga at startup!??!?! |
Hello again Jonathan,
I finally have the drive back online and at first I still couldn't get the
Amiga to boot while it was connected to the SCSI bus...
After your suggestion of using Unitcontrol to mount it manually, I then used
SCSIconfig and reloaded the RDB from the drive (after the low-level-format)
and I kept playing around with trying to make it >4GB, but it kept doing
the same thing. The only way I can access this drive at the moment is to
limit it to 4GB, which is suggested when SCSIconfig first finds the drive.
4GB is alot more than what I need at this point in time, so it will do for
now.
I will just have to wait for my 3.1 ROMS and 3.5 OS to arrive..... Is it
worth upgrading to PFS3 from PFS2? Or is the 4GB limit completely overcome
in OS 3.5? I recall someone mentioning that PFS3 doesn't quite solve the
> 4GB problem. And also, SCSIconfig says I need some FFS patches from OS3.1
(TD64 or something) but this sounds a bit confusing. I thought the PFS2sd
(scsi directc) version would have let me use >4GB drives and/or partitions?
I might keep playing around, now that I sort-of know how to get it working
again if I *do* stuff it up again.
Now there is someone else on this list with similar problems to me... I
hope that your responses to me will be able to help him out abit... I have
suggested he read these two threads for some ideas.
Regards,
Richard.
