Well if it isn't London, lets hope it is in another country rather than
anywhere north of the capital. If Amiga try and launch their machine at a
convention held up north - then we all may as well give up now!
The world's press, developer community and IT industry in general are not
going to get excited about a niche computer platform trying to launch itself
anywhere other than a major transport hub (and before anyone says it -
Birmingham and Manchester do not count in terms of overseas perception, even
though we all know that they are just as easy to get to as London is).
If you try to hold a serious international IT convention anywhere outside
the capital (with the exception of Network Telecoms), it may as well be in a
small cow shed in the Scottish Highlands, cos if you stick it up north, the
international masses simply will not go.
The anti-South attitude exhibited by some members of this list thankfully
isn't shared by the wider computer industry, who expect to find serious
convention in internationally recognised locations.
