That's a load of rubbish. People here don't buy them because the price is so
high. You got it the wrong way round :o)

Unfortunately nearly everything is dearer here than in the USA. Usually
things are the same in pounds as they are in dollars there. And it is
nothing to do with demand but price fixing. For example the telescope
manufacturers Meade will not allow US dealers to sell to the UK as they
prefer to make a much bigger profit via the UK excessive prices. That is
just one example and I am sure there are many more. We pay far too much for
everything in this country.
