The hold up? Erm, that'll be the fact that they had to rewrite lots of the
code (and a good thing in some cases). Netscape also had to remove a lot
of the code in the first place too, due to various patents and stuff.
Mozilla is finally getting there now (after well over 2 years). It's just
gained the encryption stuff they didn't have originally because of RSA
patent that just ran out and the export laws the US had.
Latest on mozilla.org is that Mozilla 1.0 is "Q2 2001". So over 3 years
since the source was released.
Now, if you want an Amiga port, not counting ports of beta versions,
you've got a long time to wait. Wasn't someone planning on porting GTK to
enable a Mozilla port from the linux source?
It's not going to happen. And once that's not happened, it's even less
likely that an Amiga port will appear ;) Mozilla's one of those nice ideas
that's going to be stuck in a very unstable beta state forever. :(
