I don't have SFS on any partitions yet, but I tested deletion of an ISO
image, 590 Megs in size, in FFS.
It took less than 2 seconds on an A2000.
This has a SCSI drive connected to an A2091 with a Guru ROM, and the
partition is formatted with 8k blocks. (The GURU ROM makes a big
difference).
(There is a second SCSI drive on this machine, connected to a Phase5 2040,
which also drives the CD reader and the CD writer. I find this computer
works well for CD writing.)
So if faster deleting is a reason for installing SFS, I might not
bother!
Actually, I plan to try it on the YAM partition, which has directories
with thousands of files.
