The GeekGadgets is alive but the amount of development seems to be very low.
Some packages are still updated but most are not.

It's been a long time since an official snapshot was created but I'm sure
there's a newer one than 1997.
There's lots of newer stuff on the FTP site hidden in the alpha directory.
Most importantly newer versions of GCC (aka EGCS) and associated files.
