Yes, and no, respectively. The user interface has been abstracted
away from the application developer, so that they can concentrate
on making their code do what it needs to, and the user can choose
for themselves how they want to interact with it.

All of that is handled down at the AFL level. From the app programmer's
point of view, you simply have some self-describing services.

The capability of supporting it is. That doesn't mean that the support
has to be included for the system to function.
