My only preference is that if a standardized format is chosen, that it
not be one of the "compound" formats that requires multiple programs to
"undo". For this reason, I would support either LhA or zip with a leaning
towards zip if for no other reason than it assumes a file extension (which
I hope that we all eventually get away from needing) and some more
reasonable defaults with respect to recursing directories.
