In theory, yes. But look how clumsy WinCE is. It offers the same 'stability'
windoze has. (My various Psion PDAs didn't crash once in 5 years).
Having a more efficient solution means lower hardware requirements, thus lower
price. And mass market is all about price.
The desktop market is different: performance is also an issue. I don't know CEF,
but I suspect it doesn't support that many plattforms and isn't as lean as Elate
(correct me if I'm wrong)

Well, it's very rare that good technology sells. In most cases it's the worst
technology with the best marketing selling in big amounts. There are exceptions
to this, though ...
I'm sure that, the day AmigaOne (or whatever real machine) hits the street, lots
of Amiga fans (=us) will evangelize. I sure will :-)
Until that day, I'll stay in silent mode, as hype isn't helpful.
