I don�t know that it have been anounced that the SDK would be free(atleast not
for as long as I�ve worked for Amiga), I have not seen any official statement
of that sort either(again I might be wrong).
That said though there is nothing preventing Amiga from releaseing a free SDK
(but it would prolly not be finacialy viable), and another thing to remember is that
nothing in this industry is set in stone and changes happen everyday, with those
changes you have to constantly reevaluate your positioning and strategy.
And yes I think this is a bit off topic in a development ML :)
And again this is in no way an official statement, just my personal observations on
the subject.
