I don't agree that the more efficient solution implies lower hardware
requirements. Volume is the best price reducer. Its the "killer app" that
is going to create the volume.

CEF is a technology similar to VP. When you say Elate, I am assuming you
are talking about their deterministic RT operating system.
CEF currently supports ARM, Mips, PPC, SHx and x86.
VP offers those and Motorola M-Core, ColdFire, ST40, and NEC V850.
So yes, Tao has translators for more processors. Btw., with the GCC based
translator that I have been babbling about, we could get VP to work on all
the processors that GCC supports.
