The 16 bit characters are a good thing. But why shouldn't we be able
to have 16 bit characters AND a Meta-key, or left-Amiga and
right-Amiga modifiers for that matter? As it stands now, Elate has
set up the keycodes so the only possible modifiers are Shift, Alt and
Control. With less than 128 keys you have to use Alt to get the rest
of the Latin-1 characters. So you don't get a Meta-key. And no menu
shortcuts with the Amiga key either.
Did you wonder why you have to use the Esc key to get the emacs-like
meta-commands in jove?
