Me neither, but amigans love talking, don't we... I've read your message,
and its a very balanced and sensible one. Here are some points I think are
very important to put in perspective:
> I am not a proponent of Microsoft's Windows software, nor am
> I an opponent to it.
Quite constructive. Some people prefer to despise the work of others, while
not working themselves. That leads to...
> I will attempt to increase the signal and reduce noise on my part, as
well.
Precisely that. You are quite right. Let's go on.

Thing is, many people do care. Or at least, those who like to feel a bit
techy, like myself. I can't understand computers as mere tools, I'm
fascinated by the technology. But your way of thinking is forward, and
matches what Amiga Inc. is trying to do now:
> What I care about is the ability to run on top of any operating
> system and on top of any microprocessor.
Aha.

That's where I wanted to get! I'm worried about Amiga's part in this trip.
They are supposed to build the user experience, on top of Tao's foundation,
taking advantage of being potentially ubiquitous. But I've seen nothing
about this experience, not a single clue of what would the desktop metaphor
(if used) will look like, the high level APIs, etc. I guess that would be
"Workbench, the next generation" on top of "Andromeda", or something like
that. I guess much work must be done in pieces that are still at a lower
level, like a graphic driver model (inspired on the specific abilities of
the specific Matrox G450 VGA vard), and sound, as the present tools from
Amiga are totally mute. I can't get a clue about how is progress in these
two very important areas, because I think the SDK is very good for learning
how to program the VP, but there's really no toolkits to deliver content,
the final goal for Amiga. How's that AmiVerse doing? Gary, G'o'tz?
> This independent aspect of VP (i.e., it could be used on systems

Me too. Pass on some screenshots, some structure for APIs...

That's interesting, as every source opening. I guess it's completely
impossible.
See ya!
