I think you guy�s are reading a bit too much into the processor inportance
in the future(atleast in the case of Ami), I�ve said it before and I do it again:
If you have a choice tween the most sutable CPU and the most widespread
if they are in fact the same from our point of view, the choice is kinda obvious.
Intel does not have the fastest neither the cheapest processor arch out there,
they have the among the best for general consumer/prosumer cpu�s out there
with a good price/performace(same with AMD, VIA and transmeta).
But this means nothing in the future we(Amiga Inc.) are aming for, as a simple
senario you might see something like this:
StrongARM in PDA�s
Mips in settopboxes
X86 & PPC in Consumer machines
SMP x86, Sparc, Alpha, PPC in workstations and servers.
In this senario the user will choose the best solution for his/her needs based on the
application instead of looking at OS availability.
Again this is peronal observations and is in no way official Amiga Inc. policy.
