I can tell you what I've proposed.
The core Ami installable can always be on the media, it's owned
by the creator(s).
There should be a "wrapper" install available for each platform.
- It should auto-run, if its platform supports it.
- Its default interface should make use of the native interface
of that platform as much as possible.
- It should have a native installer for its platform.
- All distributions share the same wrapper, as explained below.
- The native installer should install or upgrade the common
wrapper for the platform.
- The native installer should make use of a cross-platform data
file that provides as much information as needed to install the
Ami software.
- The native installer will provide shortcuts, aliases, links, etc.
that run the wrapper with an argument of the main tool, as well
as any others needed by the app.
There would be a licensing fee for each platform (wrapper module)
a developer wanted to distribute. This is required because the core
is still Tao's, so Amiga has to pay a licensing fee to them for each
copy.
Because of this, there should also be a separate "wrapper" package
sold to the general public directly by Amiga that contains all
wrappers for all platforms, or an on-line downloadable purchase for
just one specific platform. This wrapper can be used if the wrapper
for that specific platform was not included with the Ami game or app
media.
Once again, just an idea I proposed.
