For anyone looking for some more info on OpenGL, check out O'Rielly at:

its got an article on doing a black hole simulation (looks good, not some
single pixels swirling around) and some links to other OpenGL resources on
O'Rielly.
One of the things that interested me was the way the OpenGL committee
handles porposed extensions (things like bump-mapping), not as bleak as I
though :)
